In short
No cookies, no accounts, no advertising, and nothing stored on your device by this site. You are never asked for consent because there is nothing to consent to.
Visit counting
Page views are counted with GoatCounter. It records which page was visited, the referring site, the browser and screen size, and the country, and it sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device. The counts are only ever looked at in aggregate, to see which games and themes people read. GoatCounter's own practices are described in its privacy policy. Blocking its script with a content blocker changes nothing else on the site.
Things loaded from other sites
- Videos come from YouTube, through its privacy-enhanced domain youtube-nocookie.com. Nothing is fetched from YouTube until you press play or click a timestamp; before that the page shows a still image of the video. Once a video plays, Google's privacy policy applies to it.
- The board is an embed of the lichess study, loaded only when you open the Board tab. Lichess's privacy policy applies to it.
- Danya's photo on the home page is served by Wikimedia Commons, which sees the request like any other image request.
The fonts are served from this site, not from a font service.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Netlify, whose servers keep ordinary request logs.
